Chemical industries, dairy units, oil and gas refineries," petro-chemical complexes and fertilizer manufacturing units are few of those
areas which are incomplete without anti-corrosive treatment for concrete
surface. Environmental effects, spillage and dust- emission are few of those
processes which can corrode concrete. Protection of concrete surface of
constructed elements from corrosive attack “arising through very harsh
corrosive conditions” from all those (and many more) sources of corrosion becomes
a moral duty of a Civil Engineer. This book is an effort in this direction to
share the applied knowledge with the budding Engineers so that they are aware
of such protective measures to be taken for the situations they are put into
which I am sure, you must have found it to be of significant importance. One
save of production stoppage with use of knowledge contained in this book
would serve the very purpose of bringing it out.
